Water purification theory
-Aims:
The aims of the treatment are to remove unwanted constituents in the water and to make it safe to drink or fit for a specific purpose in industry or medical applications. Widely varied techniques are available to remove contaminants like fine solids, micro-organisms and some dissolved inorganic and organic materials, orenvironmental persistent pharmaceutical pollutants. The choice of method will depend on the quality of the water being treated, the cost of the treatment process and the quality standards expected of the processed water.
There are many techniques used for water purification.
Residential filters Stages:
1-Filtration:
Uses cartridges to rid the water of impurities in order to get a clean water.
Uses the below cartridges:
Polypropylene Cartridge: cartridge to remove impurities from water(dust, rust,…etc.).
GAC Cartridge: Cartridge to enhance color, taste & odor. Removes chlorine & organic chemicals.
CTO Cartridge: Cartridge to remove fine carbon, residual chlorine, & VOCs.
Post Carbon: Additional carbon filter to remove effects of storage. Removes gases that change the taste.
2-Amplifiers:
•Calcite
Calcite is a naturally occurring calcium carbonate media. One of the advantages of Calcite is its self-limiting property. When properly applied, it corrects pH only enough to reach a non-corrosive equilibrium.
•Bio-ceramic
Ceramic Balls with abundant inorganic minerals, are being widely used in water filters. It also has function of absorption for impurities and harmful heavy metal and helps human metabolism and natural healing.

3-Membrane:
•Ultrafiltration:
Ultrafiltration membrane used for the removal of particulates and macromolecules from tap water to produce safe & healthy water.
•Reverse Osmosis Membrane:
Reverse osmosis (RO) is a water purification technology that uses a semipermeable membrane to remove larger particles from drinking water & to get rid of salts & heavy metals.
4-Sterilization:
